The Sydney Tea Festival is an interactive experience designed to help people discover and experience specialty tea; encourage and grow passion for tea through education; and showcase quality specialty tea providers.
TEA MARKET
The tea market features dozens of stallholders – tea brands with specialty loose leaf tea and tisanes of all styles; food purveyors with tempting sweet and savoury treats, along with food trucks for something bigger to snack on; ceramic artists and makers of beautiful homeware and teaware. Theres also a Brew Lounge, where you can sit and enjoy a cup of tea. Tickets to the tea market go onsale in the weeks leading up to the event. Festival tasting cups are included in the ticket price.

TEA WORKSHOPS
The workshop space is where you can immerse yourself in the world of tea with some of Australia’s leading tea specialists, as they host educational tastings, demonstrations and hands-on sessions. Tickets are available before the festival, online.

TEA TALKS
If you want to know more about the history of tea, how tea is made, different varieties and basic tips and knowledge for enjoying tea, join one of the Tea Talks in the Lecture Theatre. Tickets are available online.
From 10.30am – 3.30pm
DIY TEA BLENDING STATION
Visit the DIY Blending Station in the market place where, for $20, you can experiment with making your own custom tea blend from a range of teas, herbs, spices and flowers, supplied by our partner, Austral Herbs. A tea blender will be on hand to give you advice and you can pack, name and label your tea blend to take home and enjoy.

TEA CUBE PERFORMANCE
Watch or participate in an interactive, contemporary tea ceremony in the market place. In 2017 the “Tea With A Stranger” performance will be hosted by members of Ueda Sōko Ryū Australia. Leave your digital connections outside the cube and step into the vulnerability of face-to-face human connections, facilitated by the sharing of tea. Free to join.
