Mr. R. Ames created the business in 1947 as a Broking firm buying teas in the London auction on behalf of clients. The company was later passed on to different owners over the years and the demise of the London auction (final sale on 29th June 1998), forced the company to transfer it’s skills and knowledge to other areas of the industry, namely:

2. Blending & Scenting

3. Wholesale & Own Label Packing

4. Large Leaf Pyramid Teabag Manufacture

5. String and Tag Teabag Manufacture

5. Distribution & Export

Nick Gandon has been involved in the Tea Industry for over 18 years, having been trained as a taster buyer and master blender by a world renowned expert. This has given Nick exposure to a wider range of teas probably unrivalled by anyone else in the Country.

Through his customers, Nick indirectly supplies some of the highest quality teas produced to several of the most renowned establishments across the UK. Nick has also conducted training for the current “Tea Consultant” to a major high street retailer and advised many Tea Experts around the world.

Nick has spent many months in the key growing regions of Assam, Darjeeling and Sri Lanka and has been a director of RA for over five years. Nick is a well-respected member of the tea trade and as such is currently a director on the board of the UK Tea Council and is a member of the Ethical Tea Partnership where he hopes to help build a better working environment for the producers.
