Part 2 of the ITMA Tea Sommelier Certification Course™ for becoming an ITMA Certified Tea Sommelier™ starts on November 27, 2017, with the 8-Week ITMA Tea Sommelier Tasting Course™ involving home study tasting and evaluating 18 different teas, and periodic online teleconferences to share experiences and ask questions. This will be followed by tasting and evaluating a Mystery Tea, a Report (oral or written) on a topic assigned by ITMA, and a Final Examination ($95 Examination Fee). stijn-van-schoonlandtThe training will be conducted in English and led by ITMA Certified Tea Sommelier™ and ITMA Certified Tea Blender™ Stijn Van Schoonlandt. With a strong background in tea and blending, and proprietor of his own coffee and tea establishment in Belgium, he promises to make this an especially memorable, life-changing experience for everyone.
The training contains all the educational requirements an individual needs for achieving the association’s prestigious ITMA Certified Tea Sommelier™ designation once the program (Part 1 and Part 2), blind tea tasting, oral (5 minute) or written (4 page) dissertation with a subject assigned by the ITMA, and 100+ question final examination are successfully completed.
Registrants will experience some of the loose-leaf teas from around the world. The training will also include: Health Benefits of Tea and Valuable Guest Service Skills.
Tuition for Part 2 of the program is $1,125 for ITMA Members ($1,375 for Non-Members).
Part 1 of the course is held the day before, same place,
