ITMA Tea Sommelier Certification Course – London – March 23 – 24, 2019

Do you want to bring your career in tea to the next level or are you starting out in the tea business and looking for a solid foundation?
Join the International Tea Masters Association certification program in London and become part of an international network of tea professionals.
After completing the program the student will have gained knowledge in: All aspects of tea (history, origin, production, characteristics of each type of tea, …) , correctly tasting and describing tea as a professional, correctly preparing each kind of tea (hands-on during training), the influence of terroir and environmental aspects on tea, health benefits of different teas, tea and foodpairing, and running successfully a tea business.
The training consist of a classical and a home study part. The classical part is a two days course during which all important aspects of being a tea sommelier are covered (hospitality, tea origins, tea tasting, tea market insights, …) together with tasting many famous teas. The second part of the training is a home study part with coaching during which 18 tea evaluations are made and one blind tasting, one written assignment on a topic assigned by ITMA and finally, an online test of 100 questions. After successfully completing each of these, the student receives the title of ITMA certified Tea Sommelier.
The training is given by the organizations certified Tea Master and Master Blender, Stijn Van Schoonlandt, who is appointed as the Regional Director for Europe. Stijn is running a tea and coffee retail/wholesale business in Belgium.

The training will take place on the 23th & 24th of March 2019, in the Waldorf Hilton Hotel in London.
